Course Description
Discovering the world of Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael and how they changed the world of art.
Through these sessions we will examine specific series of paintings for each artist to comprehend the artist changes during the Renaissance.
Lesson 1 - Leonardo
November 19th, 2024
We will have an overview of the life and work of Leonardo Da Vinci. We will Only focus on art although mention different projects he was involved in since they affected his professional career as a whole.
Lesson 2 - Michelangelo
November 26th, 2024
Chronological overview of the achievements of Michelangelo, understanding his linear development and why he achieved much more success than many of his contemporaries.
Lesson 3 - Raphael
December 3rd, 2024
Since Raphael had such a short life in comparison with the others, we will do a chronological approach looking at the key masterpieces he produced before dying aged 37.
Lesson 4 - Impact
December 10th, 2024
Contextual Class on Renaissance Art over all to understand the impact of the great masters.
Final talk with deeper questions asked by the students during the course.
