Description
Get ready to travel across time, culture, and history in this exciting World Virtual Tour on the History of the Sikh Gurus! Whether you love history, spirituality, culture, or simply discovering inspiring stories from around the world, this talk has something for you. You’ll explore the incredible journeys of the ten Sikh Gurus — leaders who stood for equality, courage, kindness, and service at a time when the world desperately needed change. Rooted in Sikhism, one of the world’s youngest major religions, their teachings continue to inspire millions through values of unity, selfless service, and respect for all humanity. From powerful stories of sacrifice and leadership to the creation of a global community built on compassion and resilience, this session will show you why Sikh history remains so relevant today. If you enjoy meaningful stories, rich traditions, and ideas that still matter in our modern world, this is definitely a talk you won’t want to miss!

I’m Dr Diptarup Ghosh Dastidar, a research fellow at Banaras Hindu University, India. My PhD thesis deals with comics studies and spatiality, but my interests span farther wide into popular culture, gender studies, and Indology. I have taught at various universities in India and am currently teaching literature and language to school kids in Uttar Pradesh. Living in the historic city of Varanasi (aka Benares), I have been driven into learning and talking about ancient Indian scriptures, mythology, and philosophy. I am very passionate about socialising and I love lecturing! I’m also a musician and vocalist in the alt-rock band – The Spring Leaves – while I’m not teaching, or reading! I hope that I’ll be able to add some value to your experience with World Virtual Tours. Cheers!
