Description

Welcome to the Great Hall of Guildhall a feast for the eyes. Guildhall is the town hall of the Corporation of city London and in that sense, they are like the other local authorities. Except they’re not the same. The Great Hall is where the Lord Mayor has wined and dined monarchs and visiting heads of state. Rather less hospitably, it’s where an English Queen was tried for treason and sentenced to death. Its walls are lined with monuments that are a roll-call of some of England’s most influential men. The Great Hall stands upon layers of history, the oldest part of London, founded 2,000 years ago. Not bad for what is essentially a town hall.
