Description
This journey to the Iron Age Jerusalem covers almost five centuries between the traditional time of King David and the fall of the city to Babylon.
It will lead you to explore the city’s history and culture, guiding you through archaeological sites, artefacts, and stories of the people who lived there. Starting at the original Jerusalem Temple, beneath the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif, we’ll work our way down to the Pool of Siloam, the lowest point in ancient Jerusalem. On our way we’ll see how people lived, worked, and worshipped in the city centuries before the Roman city of the New Testament. We’ll also look at how archaeologists reconstruct the evidence to build narratives about people who lived 2500-3000 years ago.
