Description
You are invited to the unique exhibition of the Hermitage Museum of Saint Petersburg which sheds light on the childhood of the last Romanovs, four daughters and a son of emperor Nicholas II and empress Alexandra Feodorovna. The girls called themselves OTMA, it is an acronym made of the first letters of their names – Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia. The exhibition features more than 270 exhibits, including a unique set of personal items and costumes from the Hermitage collection: from undershirts to ceremonial court dresses, as well as toys and some household items of members of the imperial family. Among the exhibits is the military uniform of Tsarevich Alexei. Many items will be shown for the first time after the lengthy restoration. Also, we will see other personal belongings, books, favorite games which formed the individual traits of each child and reveal the details of the daily life of children. In addition to exhibits from the collection of the State Hermitage, the exhibition includes items from the Tsarskoe Selo State Museum-Reserve and the State Archives of the Russian Federation, many of which are exhibited for the first time. Please, note that the video for this tour has been pre-recorded for us as I am far away from my beloved city because of the war. These tours are for those who can differentiate between culture, history and politics.
