Description

Join Anna for this Women’s Day Special event to explore three centuries of Russian history through the exquisite personal wardrobes of its most influential Romanovs women, preserved in the historic Pavlovsk Palace collection. From Catherine the Great’s regal ensembles that merged European sophistication with Russian grandeur, to the refined wardrobe of the first Empress Maria Feodorovna (wife of Paul I) that graced the halls of Pavlovsk palace, continuing through the Danish-born Maria Feodorovna (wife of Alexander III) whose attire epitomized late 19th-century court fashion, and concluding with the last Russian Empress, wife of Nicholas II, Alexandra Feodorovna’s gowns that witnessed the twilight of Imperial Russia – each carefully preserved piece tells a story of power, personality, and the evolution of fashion at the Russian court. The collection showcases everything from magnificent court gowns to intimate personal accessories, offering visitors a rare glimpse into both the public grandeur and private lives of the women who shaped Russian Imperial history through their roles, their fashion choices, and their influence on court culture.
