In this tour, we will question why Constantinople enjoyed its great reputation and how it retained it throughout the ancient and medieval periods. We will examine the physical aspects of the city such as its urban design and material remains including architecture, sculpture, and visual media that shaped its civic space over the course of a 1000-year history. We also look at some of the leading rulers that left their marks in the city and their controversial biographies.
