Description
Welcome to Alexander palace. The cozy home of the last Romanovs. Far from the hustle and bustle of Saint Petersburg downtown, hidden from the eyes of the pompous courtiers, the family of Nicholas II chose this quiet nook to be their fortress. This palace saw it all – quiet family evenings by the fireplace with books, small dinners for friends, children playing and laughing, as well as sleepless nights when Tsarevich Alexey was suffering from intolerable pain and Alexandra Feodorovna sitting by his side holding his hand and feeling helpless as nothing could be done to to stop her son’s agony. After the abdication of Nicholas II, their castle turned into their prison. From Alexander palace the Romanovs would be sent to exile… to never come back.
In this last episode we will see the last interiors available for display and know more about the stormy days of February Revolution of 1917. We’ll know what was happening in the palace at that time. We will talk about the story of last months the Romanovs spent in Alexander palace after Nicholas II abdicated from the throne. With every episode, we’ll get to know the family of the last Russian tsar better. We will see the original interiors, personal belongings and see the Romanovs as humans like we are. Please, note that the video for this tour has been pre-recorded for us as I am far away from my beloved city because of the war. These tours are for those who can differentiate between culture, history and politics.

Professional Tour Guide

Anna L.
Hi, my name is Anna. I used to be a licensed tour guide to Saint Petersburg, Russia. Due to Russian-Ukrainian war and my zero tolerance of my county’s government, I had to leave my beloved city and job. I’m currently living in Israel. There is no such thing as an ex-guide, so I’m not wasting my time and studying to become a licensed tour guide to the Holy Land. Join me in my exploration of Israel. Let’s discover this country together. History is never boring, it’s all how you talk about it. I do all kinds of virtual tours, from big touristy spots, to the nooks off the beaten path.
