Beautiful, magical and completely captivating

September 12, 2023

Another incredible tour with Simon. There is something so beautiful and magical about seeing all these wild animals so close, in the company of someone who knows and loves them. I have been on so many of them and I’m not tired of them yet. They are completely captivating.

The animals in this part of the National Park are in enclosures so Simon was able to get very close to them. They still have places to hide if they’ve had enough of humans (though it’s difficult to hide from Simon – he will often spot them anyway!), but as usual, we had some very good views of a number of different animals.

We saw a very humble animal which produces about 50kg of poo a day. We saw a very friendly animal with no upper front teeth and a truly impressive tongue. We saw two beautiful animals who very happily send the woman out to do all the fighting while the man stays at home. Fighting would mess up his hair. We also saw a very elusive creature sitting up in a tree.

Simon told us a lot of interesting facts about the animals and he also mentioned butterflies so perhaps we’ll see some next time. Some of the UK butterflies fly over from Africa, but a lot of the butterflies found in Kenya are likely to be very different.

Simon is always cheerful and enthusiastic. Although he’s not in control of what we see, he does everything he can to get us the best possible views.

Simon gave a wonderful tour. He knew where to find the animals and gave us information about them and the beautiful park. Looking forward to his next tour.

Unmissable opportunity to see some of the world’s most fascinating and beautiful animals

July 17, 2023

Simon can spot a giraffe in the densest bush or spy a leopard in the tallest tree, so no matter where the animals are hiding, Simon will find them. But on this tour, we were exceptionally lucky, with a number of animals’ sitting out in the open. It was especially good to see the majestic lions, who so often like to hide from us, as well as the adorable monkeys, the elegant giraffes, and the magnificent rhinos and hippos. We also learned about the rhino’s eyesight, the length of a giraffe’s neck and the meaning of black hairs in a lion’s mane. One particularly lovely moment was when we saw baboons and hippos eating together companionably. It is always exciting to see so many amazing animals at such close range, but Simon makes the tours even more special with his extensive knowledge of and very deep love for the animals. If you’re an animal lover or even just curious about the animals of Africa, I wholeheartedly recommend this tour.
