About Professional Tour Guide
I'm Vanessa Vasquez. I am a professional Peruvian tour guide and cultural ambassador with over 15 years of experience, deeply passionate about sharing the rich history and culture of my country and sharing the beauty and heritage of Lima.
I am expert in street art, food, archaeology, pre-Hispanic, colonial, and republican history, trying to bring that city’s 2000-year-old history, impressive architecture, and world-renowned cuisine to life.
Vanessa is an Excellent Guide
Several times recently I have gone on tours with Vanessa. She is very thorough and clear in her speaking. I have learned more about Peru in her few tours than I ever learned in school or from friends who lived in that area for many years. Peru has become a place I want to read about and learn the history of in order to better understand the incorrect teaching on the history of indigenous people in North America. Thank you Vanessa for your excellent tours.
Wonderful lesson from my couch
Vanessa was such a knowledgable and friendly guide! Vanessa talked about Pachacamac, a(n Incan) God, and I would never known about the Conquistadors impact on this community without her knowledge. Thank you for sharing your history and culture – I didn’t even have to leave my couch, but that doesn’t mean I’m not motivated to come to Peru some day!
INCA EXPLORERS: Across the Pacific to Oceania
One of the most interesting WVT presentations I’ve seen to date. Thank you, Vanessa. You really left me eager to do my own research on this fascinating piece of history.
Vanessa is an incredible tour guide!
I have joined several WVT with her and she is a wealth of information which she presents clearly and enhances with documentation and pictures always leaving me wanting to sign up for the next one. Love archeology and please have her do more of that. I want to see everywhere she talks about in her beloved country of Peru, so much so I plan to go in August and hope to meet her in Lima!!!
Jewish Migration to Peru
Watched Vanessa’s fabulous lecture on the Jewish migration to Peru in the 15th century, the complex politics that led up to it, and what happened as a result. I was completely unaware of this piece of history and was mesmerized by the story, her deep knowledge of this period, and the many marvelous images she shared. Her style is delightful, upbeat, and full of elaborate descriptions of the places, the people involved, and the complex history that led to this migration and settlement in Peru. Her own enthusiasm for the topic also showed through and further enlivened the lecture. She’s one of the best, if not *the* best, tourguide I’ve encountered in the many WVT presentations I’ve seen.
