Folksy, funny and a faithful son of Newfoundland and Labrador.

I think I’ve joined all of Kevin’s tours. Whenever I see his tour listed, I sign up. He has a likeable personality and acknowledges everyone – and I mean everyone – on the chat, He clearly loves his subject and conveys his knowledge in an “aw shucks” and easy going manner. His quizzes are fun (with a prize to the winner – a big thumbs up). On his walks, the neighbours says hi to him and they have a brief “catch up” session. He loves Elvis. What’s there not to like. The ones who’ve joined know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, you have to. What you paid cheerfully refunded if you don’t have a good time while learning about a unique and distinct part of Canada. Eh b’y.

Discovering Newfoundland Canada – From Port aux Basques to Bay St. Georges. An excellent WVT debut!

May 30, 2024

Newfoundland and Labrador form a province of Canada, the first an island and the second on the mainland. Both featured in Kevin’s first tour for World Virtual Tours in very interesting introduction to this part of Canada.

Newfoundland’s history includes links to the Vikings, World War II and the United Kingdom. It was a surprise to learn how recently it became part of Canada, though the first leader of the province wasn’t exactly impressive. Newfoundland has its own heritage which has great importance to the people of Newfoundland. The tour also featured some very recent history – a tragic event from just under two years ago.

The tour included a number of different parts of the area, including the oldest city in North America, which was the location of a famous first in communication, in addition to having a street which holds a world record. Newfoundland also has an airport which can do what not many airports can.

It sounds like a lovely place to visit with a friendly community and many different types of wildlife. And if you want to be a Newfoundlander, there is a way. Newfoundland also has a type of food whose name comes from a linguistic misunderstanding and there’s something very interesting and unexpected in the vodka.

Kevin’s first tour was a lot of fun. He has warmth, enthusiasm, and a lot of knowledge.
