About Professional Tour Guide
Ciao! I'm Alba, a Roman archaeologist and licensed tour guide. Even though I'm Italian through and through, I've spent quite a bit of time living on the East Coast of the US and in England.
After snagging a BA in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and not one, but two MAs in Archaeology and History of Architecture, I went all out and got my Ph.D. in Archaeology back in 2015. But you know what? I quickly realized that I'm more into storytelling than hardcore research. So, I ditched the academic life and dove headfirst into guiding tours and educating folks in museums all across central Italy.
I'm all about uncovering the hidden gems of Rome and the surrounding areas in Lazio. Sure, the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are cool, but there's so much more to see!
So, join me for some passionate dives into the Great Beauty of Rome. Let's explore its fascinating history and art scene together!

Trastevere unveiled : questions after tours
Dear Alba,
Thank you always your virtual tours that is interesting and also insightful.
Your English is very good to listen as native so I can understand well.
But I’m not good to listening skill enough.
When I wrap up the course of Trastevere, I had some questions couldn’t be sure about the tour.
1. Rafael
2. Shoes hanging on the rope.
3. Food
4. Church
After the tour I checked each of them, I assured Rafael lived there and his wife and model too.
Oil grilled Croquettes like food that you recommended.
Church was built and repaired again and again with that each era design.
And I didn’t understand that shoes hanged on rope. You said that it was kind of photo spot.
But why they did that? I remember you explained but I wasn’t sure.
Totally you respect and very proud of trastevere at all.
I am fine if I know about why shoe’s on hang.
Looking forward to seeing you next tour maybe have in December.
Kinds regards

Extremely knowledgeable and interesting
We got a tour of the Spanish Steps in Rome and Alba made the info relatable and compelling.
Will follow her tours again!
Live Walk in Rome – Piazza di Spagna
The Piazza do Spagna – Square of Spain – and the famous Spanish Steps are located in Italy. This might seem surprising to some, but Spain isn’t the only country that makes a surprise appearance in Alba’s incredible tour.
A very famous man, who is not Italian, lived and died in a house next to the Spanish steps. On the other side two women, also not Italian, worked there more than one hundred years ago. At the top of the steps is a large building dedicated to the people of a non-Italian country. In the square is a building with connections to two non-Italian countries. There is also an obelisk which references yet another country. Everywhere you look, there is something to confuse and delight you.
Italy is also well-represented. A well-known fashion designer has his headquarters in the Piazza di Spagna, despite his concerns about a certain smell. The Barcaccia Fountain, located at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, was created by an Italian sculptor and inspired by an Italian legend.
Alba also taught us a lot about the Spanish Steps, including the one thing you absolutely mustn’t do on the steps (it’s not a rude thing, though you probably can’t do rude things either) and a very long international argument involving the Steps. Alba also gave us arguably the most important piece of information of all – the best place to go to the bathroom.
Alba’s tours are very enjoyable. She takes us to beautiful places with very interesting history. She also likes to have fun and surprise us! It was definitely fun and surprising to hear what made her laugh when she was a little girl.

lots of information shared in easy to receive snippets.
Excellent !
Alba gave a great virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel. Lots of great information given and, by her using the Vatical website virtual tour, we learned how to use that website to go online ourselves.
We recognized Alba as the tour guide we had in May 2022 for the Colosseum Underground!
So many hidden gems and surprises found in the paintings.
Alba was excellent. She was thorough with the time she had scheduled and was knowledgeable. This was my first world virtual tour. I will be returning for others. Hopefully, I will have Alba as my tour guide again.
Don’t leave Rome without her.
Alba was amazing. She not only showed me the Sistine Chapel she was so knowledgeable and her presentation so enthralling I felt like I was there with my neck bent back staring in wonder at the ceiling. She has quite a gift.
A very interested tour online through the Colosseum
Even though I missed the beginning of this online guided tour presented by Alba I was mesmerised about the information and facts she gave us and also the historic facts. I have never been in the Colloseum (did try but the queues where hours long so I gave up) but now u have seen this tour I am determined that next time I visit Rome I will definitely go to visit the Collosseum. Mille Grazie Alba
