Join me for a virtual walk through the magnificent heart of imperial Saint Petersburg. We will explore Palace Square, the grand space where Russian history unfolded, surrounded by some of the most iconic buildings of the city. You will see the spectacular Winter Palace, home of the Hermitage Museum, the sweeping General Staff Building with its triumphal arch, and the Alexander Column rising dramatically at the center of the square. We will also stroll toward the elegant Moyka River, whose quiet embankments are lined with aristocratic mansions and historic residences. Along the way we will discover hidden courtyards, graceful facades, and stories of emperors, revolutions, and the everyday life that once animated this remarkable imperial setting.
