Between the Romans and the arrival of the Vikings, the Picts were the major force in Scotland, ruling the eastern parts of northern Britain for six centuries. Shrouded in mystery due to their absence from written sources, they are best known from their art, but archaeological research has revealed much about their lives. On this tour of key Pictish sites, we will learn about their settlements, lifestyles, and burial places, incredible artistic traditions, and how they finally faded away as Alba, the first Kingdom of Scotland, appeared.
