Description
Join us on a captivating journey through one of Rome’s hidden gems: the Ostiense district. Just two subway stops from the Colosseum, you’ll discover an archaeological treasure – the ancient Aurelian walls, standing tall for over two millennia. But that’s not all; prepare to unravel a mystery as we investigate the presence of an ancient pyramid in this unexpected location.
As we roam virtually the neighborhood’s streets, we’ll encounter another remarkable feature: unique street art. Unlike anywhere else in Rome, Ostiense boasts a mesmerizing blend of ancient and contemporary artistry. Notably, it was here that Europe’s first anti-smog street art emerged, ingeniously absorbing pollution akin to natural foliage. Additionally, we’ll admire other stunning works by internationally renowned street artists.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the Ostiense district’s rich tapestry of history and creativity, where ancient relics and modern marvels converge in a harmonious symphony.

Professional Tour Guide

Alba S.
Ciao! I'm Alba, a Roman archaeologist and licensed tour guide. Even though I'm Italian through and through, I've spent quite a bit of time living on the East Coast of the US and in England. After snagging a BA in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and not one, but two MAs in Archaeology and History of Architecture, I went all out and got my Ph.D. in Archaeology back in 2015. But you know what? I quickly realized that I'm more into storytelling than hardcore research. So, I ditched the academic life and dove headfirst into guiding tours and educating folks in museums all across central Italy. I'm all about uncovering the hidden gems of Rome and the surrounding areas in Lazio. Sure, the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are cool, but there's so much more to see! So, join me for some passionate dives into the Great Beauty of Rome. Let's explore its fascinating history and art scene together!
