Description
Did Rome conquer and dominate the land we now call Scotland, did they enjoy friendly relations with the local communities, or was it somewhere in between? The Roman presence in Scotland, though erratic and short-lived, had a lasting cultural, social, and economic effects. By examining imperial centres and indigenous settlements, local and imported material culture, and artistic representations of the two communities, this tour reveals how the two communities interacted and uncovers the cultural exchanges that took place.
