After the Commune, from the 1870s onwards, Montmartre was transformed and a new page in its history opened. Attracted by its light, rural charm, low rents and certainly by the spirit of freedom it exuded, many painters, poets and musicians settled here. Naturalists, impressionists, nabis, fauvists, cubists… all chose the Butte over the years. they quickly grouped together, and residential studios were created, such as the Bateau-Lavoir – but also cabarets such as the Lapin Agiles or the bateau lavoir, and of course places like the Maison Rose. This is what we’ll be discovering on this tour.

My name is Patrick. I am Parisian, although I come from a family from Britanny (from the Côtes d’Armor). I have been passionate about my city for several years and I love to help people discover it.
