We’ll take a trip into the 14th century to the medieval seat of Charles IV, King of Bohemia and the Roman Empire.
Founded 650 years ago, the castle was built as a place for safekeeping of royal treasures, especially the coronation jewels. It is located in a picturesque site which is called Dragon’s Rock in the middle of dense forests just about an hour drive from Prague.
Karlstejn Castle has a unique system of defense with seven gates, numerous towers, and a deep well to provide water in case of a siege.
Join me to explore an awe-inspiring castle in the hilly countryside.
We won’t go inside; all the beauty is outside.
