Description

Join us for this special event!
For the first time we will enter LIVE into one of the most impressive, interesting and well-preserved temples in all of Ancient Egypt!
With the guidance of our Khaled we will walk among the imposing columns and read the history directly from the hieroglyphs and decorations which still retain the fabulous original colours!

Medinet Habu, otherwise known as the Temple of Ramses III, is one of the greatest temples of the twentieth dynasty. It was built by King Ramses III and dedicated to Amun-Ra, the main god of ancient Egypt at the time. The temple also functioned as a funerary temple for Ramses III, meaning his funeral rites were performed there, before being buried in one of the many tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Funerary temples in Luxor, such as Medinet Habu, are also known as ‘temples of million years’ to indicate that they are meant to last for eternity. Medinet Habu was the largest funeral temple built on the West Bank of Luxor, and exhibits the deepest carvings of all ancient monuments in the region, including a famous scene of the Libyans and the Sea Peoples, which makes this temple very unique and interesting. Our Egyptologist Khaled will show and tell you everything!

Please note: The tour time is linked to the opening hours of the archaeological site.

ATTENTION:
⛈️ In case of adverse weather conditions, the walking tour will be canceled and rescheduled without notice.
