exploring the city’s central district called Mitte, uncovering its secrets and splendors.
You’ll start the tour with a stroll around the neighborhood that once was a trading settlement called Cölln. Olga will show you the only remaining buildings
of that settlement and tell you exciting stories hidden behind their beautiful facades. You’ll explore the fascinating nineteen century Berlin and uncover ist stunning architecture. Who was the main city architect at that time? Berlin’s iconic square known as Gendarmenmarkt and its two imposing churches – why were they built identical and called the German and the French churches? The city’s exciting “salon culture” – who were the main personalties and attendees of the most popular salons?
Finally, you’ll walk in the footsteps of one of the most famous 19th century Berlin families – the Mendelssohns. From Moses Mendelssohn, one of the founders of the Jewish Reform movement to the famous composer Felix Mendelssohn to the prominent bankers and merchants, the family’s footprint into the city was profound and amazing indeed. And Olga will tell you their exciting story.

I'm Olga from Odessa, I spent a lot of time abroad. I have an MBA in the USA - previously worked in international marketing in California, London and Moscow. I switched to the tourism industry in 2011 and founded the Odessa Walks travel agency in my hometown Odessa. Due to the pandemic, I have created virtual live streaming programs starting in 2020 that share the beauty of my history-rich hometown to people from all over the world. In September 2022 I moved to Berlin and Krakow due to the war. While I continue to do "home tours" of Odessa, I started by creating live cultural and historical tours of Berlin and Krakow.
