Join Anna on a virtual journey through 19th-century Saint Petersburg as we explore the atmospheric settings of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novels and the places he knew intimately. We’ll begin at the Dostoevsky Museum, located in his final apartment, where his personal belongings and the ambiance of his world come to life. From there, we’ll navigate the winding streets of the Haymarket district, retracing the steps of Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment and immersing ourselves in the shadows of his tormented characters. Our exploration continues to iconic landmarks like Sennaya Square, the Neva River’s bridges, and the city’s austere courtyards—places that inspired the profound psychological and moral struggles in Dostoevsky’s works. At each stop, Anna will reveal how the city’s haunting beauty and stark realism shaped his literary genius.
