About Professional Tour Guide
Ciao! I'm Alba, a Roman archaeologist and licensed tour guide. Even though I'm Italian through and through, I've spent quite a bit of time living on the East Coast of the US and in England.
After snagging a BA in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and not one, but two MAs in Archaeology and History of Architecture, I went all out and got my Ph.D. in Archaeology back in 2015. But you know what? I quickly realized that I'm more into storytelling than hardcore research. So, I ditched the academic life and dove headfirst into guiding tours and educating folks in museums all across central Italy.
I'm all about uncovering the hidden gems of Rome and the surrounding areas in Lazio. Sure, the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are cool, but there's so much more to see!
So, join me for some passionate dives into the Great Beauty of Rome. Let's explore its fascinating history and art scene together!

Fabulous virtual tour of underground,Piazza Navona,Rome
Alba is so knowledgeable & thorough in all of her tours we have attended !! Always first class 11 Many thanks, they are the next best experiences to being there in person.
Wonderful and enlightening.
This tour (Piazza Navonne) is incredible. So many interesting facts. Alba speaks at a good speed and in very clear English, even though she is a genuine Italian. You can tell that she really loves her subject, and she loves to share it with interested people. I will keep looking for her tours – they are the best. Of course, I showed appreciation with a tip. And on a very hot day, I got to sit in my chair and drink water. The best of all worlds.

I had never heard of this district – so many architectural and historical details. Fascinating beyond description. So personable. Time for questions at the end. Would sign up for another walking tour again.

Compliments and future tours
Hello, Alba: I have really enjoyed your virtual tours! I visited Rome for the first time last April and had a great time. It has been superb to revisit some of the places that I visited back then, as well as to see new places. I am very impressed with your English.

Will follow her tours again!
Live Walk in Rome – Piazza di Spagna
The Piazza do Spagna – Square of Spain – and the famous Spanish Steps are located in Italy. This might seem surprising to some, but Spain isn’t the only country that makes a surprise appearance in Alba’s incredible tour.
A very famous man, who is not Italian, lived and died in a house next to the Spanish steps. On the other side two women, also not Italian, worked there more than one hundred years ago. At the top of the steps is a large building dedicated to the people of a non-Italian country. In the square is a building with connections to two non-Italian countries. There is also an obelisk which references yet another country. Everywhere you look, there is something to confuse and delight you.
Italy is also well-represented. A well-known fashion designer has his headquarters in the Piazza di Spagna, despite his concerns about a certain smell. The Barcaccia Fountain, located at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, was created by an Italian sculptor and inspired by an Italian legend.
Alba also taught us a lot about the Spanish Steps, including the one thing you absolutely mustn’t do on the steps (it’s not a rude thing, though you probably can’t do rude things either) and a very long international argument involving the Steps. Alba also gave us arguably the most important piece of information of all – the best place to go to the bathroom.
Alba’s tours are very enjoyable. She takes us to beautiful places with very interesting history. She also likes to have fun and surprise us! It was definitely fun and surprising to hear what made her laugh when she was a little girl.
