June 40 France is invaded by Germany, the Nazis enter Paris, parade on the Champs Elysées and Hitler poses in front of the Eiffel Tower. De Gaulle left for London and created the Free French government, launching his call to resistance on 18 June. 52 months later Paris rose up, the American troops of the 4th infantry division and the French troops of the 2nd DB were less than 30 miles from Paris. Paris rose up and resisted for 5 days to allow the allies to return and liberate Paris.
Together we will see the heart of the battle on the Ile de la Cité and relive those days in August 44 that led to the liberation of our city.
